I’m Gauthier Thiry, an independent writer who has been passionate about dogs and longevity for years. I created Canine Span to follow the science of canine aging and help readers stay up to date without losing sight of the everyday bond with their dogs. I write to explain and explore, not to replace a veterinary relationship.

My approach

Canine Span will distinguish dog studies from research in other species, report study limitations, and separate evidence from product claims. Articles will not present experimental treatments or supplements as established ways to extend a dog’s life. Care and treatment decisions should be discussed with a qualified veterinarian who knows the dog.
